Chef’s Knife in Böhler M390 Steel with Hybrid Handle of Desert Ironwood, Titanium, and Synthetic Ruby
The blade of this knife is forged from Böhler M390 powder steel, one of the most widely used high-performance materials in premium cutlery. Produced through powder metallurgy, M390 offers excellent edge retention, superior wear resistance, and high corrosion resistance, resulting in precise cuts with minimal effort and above-average technical durability. The fine, dense carbide structure provides the blade with a hardness of 60–62 HRC, along with thermal stability and easy maintenance. Its sharply tapered profile, 15° per side, with a thickness of 2.3 mm, allows clean cuts in any direction, maintaining stability and control even during repetitive tasks.
The handle features a hybrid construction of desert ironwood with silver wire inlays, providing structural strength, dimensional stability, and low moisture absorption. The rear end of the handle is fitted with a machined titanium grip, a material known for its lightness, corrosion resistance, and superior mechanical durability. As a final touch, the knife is adorned with an industrial synthetic ruby embedded in the pommel — a technical finishing detail that reinforces the high-quality craftsmanship.
