This Bunka knife belongs to the FireForge Retro Tricolour Series — a collection defined by visual craftsmanship and controlled culinary functionality.

It is designed as a refined cutting instrument with artistic expression, combining a stable stainless core with a decorative multilayer construction.

Engineering & Materials

The blade features a 12Cr18MoV stainless steel core, heat treated to 60 ±2 HRC.
This alloy offers corrosion resistance, reliable edge stability and predictable sharpening behaviour.

The core is clad with 36 external layers composed of brass, purple copper and 316L stainless steel, forming a 37-layer tricolour Damascus structure.

These outer layers are primarily aesthetic, creating depth, contrast and a distinctive layered pattern while maintaining structural balance.

Manufacturing Process

The multilayer billet is hot-forged under controlled conditions and acid-etched to reveal the tricolour contrast.
Final hand polishing refines the surface without compromising material integrity.

The edge is finished to 15° ±1 per side, providing clean and controlled cutting suitable for vegetables and precision tasks.
